Bürstner is turning 50, and is celebrating its birthday with attractive new models and a host of exciting promotional campaigns. At Kehl the silverware is being given a polish and the champagne has been put on ice. In Kehl, the headquarters of motorhome and caravan manufacturer Bürstner, everyone is getting ready for the 50th anniversary in 2008. Because in 1958, master joiner Jakob Bürstner started producing caravans in his workshop in the neighboring district of Neumühl. Since then, the brand has gone from strength to strength and is today one of the top names in the industry. The Bürstner brand is a byword for innovation when it comes to design and intelligent mobile leisure solutions. The model year will be getting off to a dramatic start – that is to say a world first. when, at this year’s CMT in Stuttgart, Bürstner will present an entirely new type of motorhome going by the name of Quadro. There is a lot behind the name: the Bürstner Quadro stands for four full berths. The smart design combines all the elegance of a partially integrated motorhome with the additional benefits of an integrated model. The automotive design of the body, so typical of Bürstner, is evident at first glance. The wider rear axle of the Fiat chassis guarantees excellent handling. The slightly varied shape of the Cappuccino goes right to the heart of the Quadro’s inner values. What makes the vehicle so special is the second sleeping area positioned above the seating area by means of a drop-down bed mechanism. Boasting a bed measuring 195 x 143 cm, relaxing sleeping comfort for two is guaranteed. Thanks to the Cappuccino’s new shape, there is also ample headroom beneath the drop-down bed. The handy, retractable step located behind the bench seat affords easy access to the drop-down bed. The Cappuccino’s lateral skylight floods the front of the vehicle with light, guaranteeing a pleasant atmosphere and the intelligent kitchen layout offers an exceptional amount of storage space despite having absolutely no overhead cupboards in the new design. The refrigerator located outside the kitchen at head height means no more tiresome bending over and thus affords more room for storage in the kitchen beneath the sink/cooker combination. Inside, the bathroom door made of lustrous green frosted glass is a real eye-catcher. Not only does it lend the room that certain stylish something, it also affords more light. The bathroom is also impressive through its wealth of storage compartments and stowage options. The shower unit caters for optimum room to move around in the bathroom and improves the space available in the new Bürstner model’s toilet compartment. Located in the rear of the vehicle is the generously proportioned bed measuring approx. 210 x 140 cm. The bed can be accessed conveniently and effortlessly using a stairway affixed to the side. Conveniently located either side of the bed are wardrobes and linen cupboards. Storage space is rounded off by the rooftop storage cabinet located above the bed. Those requiring even more storage space can use the generously sized ‘garage’ beneath the rear bed that is easy to access from outside the vehicle. The Quadro is a vehicle that offers four people all-round traveling comfort, whether in terms of seating, beds or storage space. Fitted as standard: ASR, central locking system in the cab, electric power-windows, swiveling Fiat pilot seats, height-adjustable passenger seat, flat panels, electrically-operated step, a third brake light in the shape of the Bürstner logo, fixture for a flat-screen TV, hook-in table with a rotating plate, pocket-sprung mattress in the fixed bed, cold foam mattress in the drop-down bed, 104 l refrigerator, “Truma Combi 4” heater The Quadro celebrated its world premiere at the first spring trade fair of 2008 in January, the CMT in Stuttgart, which was held on the new exhibitions site. Even more accolades for Burstner! Once again Burstner have received recognition in ‘The Caravan Club Motor Caravan Design & Drive Awards 2006’ The Delfin Performance T821 took the award for best coach-built motorhome in the category £45,001 and over. This is the second time that Burstner have won one of these prestigious awards from the Caravan Club in the four years since imports began. The award was presented by Mr. Bob Black MBE, Chairman of the Caravan Club at the Berkley Hotel in Central London on Friday 12th May 2006.
