New Upholstery - From Kevin Woodward

We're sending the van up to have a bespoke leather interior fitted by Regal Furnishings in Nottingham.

It was cheaper than a replacement set of covers from Burstner (wife has gone off the Rimini blue interior we currently have).  They allowed her to design the whole thing, right from changing the design and style of the seat cushions to the shape and design of the leather itself.

They're a small family firm which really appear to take a pride in their work and what the customer actually wants.  Bit of a novelty in the caravanning world going by our previous experiences.

Air locks in the water supply
Many of us have found that the vans water supply does not stay fully primed - After a few hours you get air locks and when turning the taps on they pump air and splatter for the first minute or so until the system is re-filled. This is because the system is electrically operated and not a pressure system as fitted by some manufacturers and the water is draining back into the tank.

The good thing about an electrical system is that you probably wont fill the van with water in the event of a pipe leak but it does rely on a good non return valve in the supply.

The cure is to fit an additional non-return valve into the cold water supply, close to the tank. Make sure that you use a spring loaded valve such as the Whale one as this can be fitted in any attitude (vertical or horizontal) Just cut the pipe and insert the valve using 2 jubilee clips but please check the valve is the correct way around.

IMPORTANT - WARNING
If you have a frost protection dump valve fitted the extra non-return valve must be fitted between the water tank and the frost protection dump valve
Do not fit the extra non-return valve after the frost protection dump valve or you will have no protection in the event of a freeze up
